Haliwa-Saponi Indian Tribe GONA with SAMHSA: A Journey of Healing and Unity

Registration Hosted by MeadowsMerchandise.com

The Haliwa-Saponi Indian Tribe, in partnership with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), invites you to join us for the Gathering of Native Americans (GONA) — a transformative event designed to strengthen cultural identity, promote wellness, and build community resilience.

 What Makes GONA Special?

GONA is not just a program; it’s a cultural experience rooted in Indigenous values. Supported by SAMHSA, this event creates a safe space for reflection, learning, and healing. Participants will explore themes of:

  1. Belonging – Reconnecting with who we are as a people

  2. Mastery – Building skills and confidence for a stronger future

  3. Interdependence – Strengthening bonds within our community

  4. Generosity – Giving back and lifting each other up

These four pillars guide GONA and make it a powerful tool for addressing historical trauma and promoting mental health in Native communities.
