The Haliwa-Saponi people are known for being a people who value the red clay that is scattered throughout their homelands. This rich clay has a wide variety of uses, but is most commonly used for pottery. This specific piece of pottery is adorned with motifs reflecting trees, tulips, and the sun, all of which make the Meadows feel like home.
